All of the excerpts featured here were taken from a variety of websites. No member of the 3000 Informática staff was by any means involved in their writing or conception - nor did anyone of them instructed, or suggested their authors to include in their texts any of the references to the company's activities thereby contained.
..." The Biblio 3000 ILS allows users to perform their search operations in a multiplicity of ways - thus being able to access all OPAC entries through a series of fields including author, title, subject, date of publication, publisher, UDC - standing here for Universal Decimal Classification -, and call number too; there is also the possibility to choose from a number of comparison operators. Likewise, users may refine their searches by employing more than just one criterion at a time, as well as make them more specific too by selecting a given edition format. Therefore, we may reasonably state that general, public knowledge of our collections has been significantly enhanced by the library's evolving from a traditional institution, to an IT-friendly, digitalized and dynamic one".
The Biblio 3000 ILS has accelerated the passage from manual to automatic classification, which implies that collections are now easier to retrieve; it also means - particularly - that search operations are now more quickly performed.

Back in 2003, a data evaluation process was started by the Cartagena Public Library System. Cartagena 's City Council did then enter into a collaboration agreement with the Fundación Bertelsmann, whereby the Cartagena Public Library System became an integral part of the PAB-redes Project. The starting of the aforesaid process, together with the benefits derived from the Biblio 3000's ILS newly-enhanced IT solutions, and our own staff's effort to improve their web-based tools for data recollection as well, have all resulted in a major impulse for our libraries.

Once the library had been finally relocated to its new facilities (in 1996), and all major reorganization plans had definitely been worked out, all subsequent activity focused on providing our users with the best, more efficient and quick service. An ILS - Biblio 3000 - was thus purchased which would eventually cause dramatic changes in our library - both in quantitative, and qualitative terms (it is worth noting that the same ILS would be later on purchased by the Generalitat Valenciana's Consellería de Administración Pública for its own Red de Bibliotecas Valencianas - in 1997). Now practically speaking, the introduction of Biblio 3000 to our library has basically made things easier for our users, who may now access the library's collection, as well as search for any of the items there included through the online OPAC catalogue. Search options include such fields as author, subject, title etc., and may be either simplified or refined at will.Likewise, users may reserve items and check their loans online.
