Our Union Catalogue project aims at building a single, all-encompassing catalogue out of all the individual catalogues owned or managed by the users of 3000 Informática's library administration solutions; they are welcome to join in a project so devised as to facilitate public awareness of the final, common catalogue.
“Union catalogues are a possible way of overcoming all administrative, technical as well as economic difficulties that are currently preventing libraries from achieving effective communication of bibliographical data whenever search, storing or processing of such data is required. Union catalogues are, in short, a way of sharing all existing human, technical and informational resources for avoiding both unnecessary effort and duplicity.

Interlibrary cooperation is also made possible, and enhanced, by the fact that all Biblio 3000 applications are standard-compliant (for instance, exportation of files is typically performed according to ISO 2709). This implies that individual libraries may contribute any section of their catalogues to the general project in quite a simple manner.
